Will You Marry Me… A Gentleman’s Dignity Style

Awwww… is so cute!!! I was jumping like crazy after I saw this!

It’s the proposal scene from A Gentleman’s Dignity.

I’m sure fans of this drama have see this scene already, but I just finished watching it last night! And this scene is so cute. I guess drama writers are now using ideas from proposals popular on the internet!

But this was is so cute!! And they chose such a perfect song for this part! I love love love this song! It makes the situation more romantic. And how cute it is to see the other members of F44 dance! (If you haven’t watched the drama, A Gentleman’s Dignity lets us take a peek at the lives of four men in their 40s.) I think Kim Min Jong nailed it, but he is after all a singer so I think he is capable of doing that! Kim So Ro!!! waaaa..  being adorkable! If Jang Donggun danced that would have been icing on the cake, but I guess his character would not permit it.. sigh 😦 (i just want to see him dance! lol)

The only problem I had with this scene was Kim Ha Neul’s reaction to the proposal. It was not so convincing though.. shouldn’t you look both happy and surprise at the same time, just like all those proposals we see on the internet?? Where’s the feeling girl?

Anyhow… this drama was a fun one to watch.. a breather from all those usual F4s (the younger ones). We will always remember the F44!

Recommended Drama: Queen In Hyun’s Man

When I watch Korean dramas, I usually wait for the drama to be finished before I watch it. I prefer to do drama marathons where I sit in front of a computer all night until the wee hours of the morning to finish one drama. It’s a hard habit to break. There are only a handful drama where I wait for the subtitles each week whilst refreshing my computer to make sure the files are already up!

And this drama is one of those. Too bad it ended.

But if you haven’t watched it yet I really recommend Queen In Hyun’s Man.

The story

Our hero is Kim Boong Do is a scholar from the Joseon Dynasty who supports Queen Inhyun. Our heroine is Kim Hee Jin, an up and coming actress who has just been casted for a role of Queen In Hyun for a TV drama. Boong Do  has a talisman given by one of his servants. At the brink of his death, the talisman saves him and transports him to the present 21st century where he meets Hee Jin. Hee Jin becomes his tour guide in modern day Seoul. Thus begins a romantic story for our time traveler and our heroine.

(Like always, no spoilers will be placed in this post!)

The actors:

Ji Hyun Woo

I’ve known about him from the Nuts as a guitarist. But I absolutely loved him in this drama, or maybe his character in this drama as Kim Boong Do the scholar. I think he perfected that certain smile when he sees Hee Jin.

Yoo In Na

She plays Hee Jin. Apparently, this is her first time to be the leading lady, and I have to say she did good with it. I am especially impressed with the way she does all those sad scenes like when she had to cry from all the pain in the hospital! You go girl!

Why I liked it?

This drama was made by TVN. Though it’s a cable channel in Korea, this channel makes really good dramas. Who could forget Joseon X Files, or Flower Boy Ramyun Shop? This is another daebak hit from them.

Currently, there are a lot of dramas with the time traveling theme that have been shown like Rooftop Prince and the recently shown Dr. Jin. I have followed Rooftop Prince but not as I did Queen In Hyun’s Man (QIHM from this point). I was somehow fascinated with the story of QIHM more than all the other time traveling dramas. Maybe because it was combining a sageuk with a modern drama that I liked so much. This drama did a pretty good job with traveling from one period to another and linking both the stories in such a way that we would have believed its true (loved it when the annals changed as events of the future and the past changed). A well deserved thumbs up for the writers of the drama (though they could have done a wee bit better with the ending, especially the part when the Boong Do’s phone’s battery was still ok even after a year. Whoever invented that phone?)

But this drama is about men-boong, a Korean slang that means it surprises you a whole lot! And it did. It’s one of the best things about the drama, you never know what will happen because of all those surprises! Definitely very very good!

The actors  have a very good chemistry on camera. It was like seeing two real love birds! It was so sweet watching both of them have a date or doing their scenes together. Both were well played! And Soo Kyung is a best friend a lot of girls would want. She maybe nagging you too much but she’s a friend who’s there to protect you at all cost!

Also, the action scenes in this drama were noteworthy! Omona! I felt my heart stop in some of those scenes! And it’s not even because of Boong Do but because of the action! Bring it on!

Over all, if you are looking to watch one of them time travel themed dramas, I think this is your best bet!

Now I wish it never ended 🙂

Perhaps Love – J and Howl (Live)

The first Korean song I really like was Sarangingayo (사랑인가요) or Perhaps Love from the OST of the Kdrama Goong (Princess Hours). I saw the drama on TV in 2006/2007 and I loved this song ever since. I even loved this song way before I got into my Kpop phase.

This was the first Korean song I learned to sing, and the first one I memorize. Every time my friends and I went to a noraebang, the one with Korean and Japanese songs, I would always sing it! I still love to sing this song until now and it still brings back that giddy feeling I had while watching Goong! (heck, there are times I still watch Goong!)

Though there have been a lot of covers done for this song, nothing beats the original singers singing it! kk And I found a clip where they performed it together on another Korean cable TV show! I loved it so much that I want to share it!

I so love this song! It makes me want to sing along! kk

If you ask me what’s my favorite Kpop song ever — it would have to be this one! What’s your favorite Kpop song?
