Tong Hua (Fairytale) – Wang Guang Liang (Michael Wong)

I was looking for a Chinese song to post on my blog, when I remembered this song… It’s called Tong Hua (童話) / Fairytale by Wang Guang Liang 王光良.

I heard this before, when the 2 Chinese boys did their own version of the song. But back then, it wasn’t one of my favorites, as I preferred their rendition of Wilber Pan’s Bu De Bu Ai. But I loved this song, when a friend of mine reintroduced it to me. She learned how to sing the song when she was in Shanghai learning Mandarin.

It’s a sad song, but I think it’s quite a popular song in the Mandopop industry. Also, according to my friend, it’s a song that is very easy to learn as the characters are very easy — well this would apply if you are learning Mandarin. Though it’s a slow song, I like the way the piano is being played, and though you do not understand it you know by the tune that it’s sad.. and the video is sad too!
